Excursion Details
Our Day-Sail Excursion

SPREAD EAGLE II departs for a palm fringed tropical island at 10 AM from 'J' Dock at Villa Marina in Fajardo, a 30 mile drive east from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Then it's about a one hour sail to an offshore island and the reef. There's something for everyone. Kids from two months old to 90 years old have enjoyed the trip as much as we've enjoyed having them. Once at the island, we lower a stairway into knee-deep water so you can get your gear to the beach safe and dry. Then you can swim, beach comb, splash in gin-clear water or stare back at the brilliantly colored tropical fish as you snorkel the reef or just laze on the white sand beach or on board under the cockpit shade awning, the choice is yours.

We prepare lunch fresh at the island. After enjoying some beach time, come back on board to feast on our premium sandwich buffet lunch. Chat with fellow passengers or crew while having a cold one from the bar. Complimentary soft drinks, Piña Colada and Tropical Fruit Punch are served all day. As soon as lunch is done we leave the beach and anchor next to a living reef for more spectacular snorkeling. For those of you who would like a lesson or some special attention, a crew member is always available.

The reefs are teeming with Parrot fish, Foureye butterfly fish, Sergeant majors and Wrasse. The variety is too long to list. Ask one of the crew to see the Fish and Coral and Shell Identifying Charts on board.
SPREAD EAGLE II even provides lunch for the fish. With a little patience, you can get the fish to eat bread right out of your hand.

As we leave the reef, remember that we have left the sights and sounds of the city at the dock. You're welcome to bring your own Walkman because we guarantee no loud music. We offer the slow soothing sound of the Caribbean Sea and balmy breezes that fill our sails. This is a time to relax and unwind. We head back to the dock with sails belly full and trade winds on our tail.
